Fairfax NZ performs in print and online

FAIRFAX Media’s New Zealand operations are celebrating the release of the latest Nielsen National Readership Survey, which revealed positive results in both print and online for the publisher.

The Sunday Star Times lived up to its name by being a star performer, adding 30,000 readers or 5.2 percent year on year for the 12 months to June 30. The survey revealed readers spend an average of one hour with the Star Times.

Fairfax’s stuff.co.nz flagship news website continued to be top dog in the online rankings, rating as New Zealand’s most popular news and entertainment website in Nielsen’s online measurements.

Fairfax’s New Zealand newspaper stable defied the alarming circulation trends of some overseas markets, similar to their Australin counterparts.

The combined daily readership of Fairfax’s metropolitan papers, The Dominion Post, The Press and Waikato Times, increased by 9,000 readers aged 15+ in the last year.
