Daily launches alternate front page

ONE of Australia’s leading dailies has announced plans to publish two different front pages every weekday – one for subscribers, and one for retail sale.

The Adelaide Advertiser will produce a tailored page one for its subscribers that is more informative and features more pointers, while copies for sale at newsagents will continue to focus on eye-catching tabloid splashes that aim to boost on-the-spot sales.

Starting from next Monday, the intiative also affects page two of the paper, where the subscriber version will detail special promotions and benefits only available to those with a subcription.

The rest of the book will appear the same for all readers.

Dan Demaria, Advertiser Newspapers Marketing Director said: “We believe we will get better engagement of each of the subscriber and retail target audiences by undertaking this initiative – the retail front page will be more eye-catching at street level and our subscription customers will get a more detailed and informative front page.”
