It’s Huff Post and Facebook combined

The Chicago Tribune is launching a new web property called Chicago Now in an effort to grow its total online reach.

The promotional video (below) calls Chicago Now “a cross between Huffington Post, and Facebook, for Chicago”.

News Ltd’s new multimedia project headed by David Penberthy – known as The Punch – is also said to be based on elements of Huffington Post.

The Tribune’s video claims the Chicago Now model to be a world first for media.
