Chronicle tries print in a digital world

THE San Francisco Chronicle, under major pressure to reduce costs, has launched a digital newspapers for US$100 a year subscription.

The paper is promising that it will be available at 4am each day, seven days a week.

The initiative is not unlike PANPA’s Bulletin newspaper that is available in digital format using RealView technology.

The Chronicle is one of several US newspapers that have been linked with possible closure, or a reduction in print days from seven to three days a week. Currently, however, the newspaper is continuing to operate normally.
