Advertiser in running for global awards

ADVERTISER Newspapers has received two nominations as finalists for the International Newsmedia Marketing Association (INMA) awards at its World Congress in Miami in May.

Dan Demaria, Advertiser Newspapers Marketing Director said, “It is great to be in consideration
amongst some of the world’s largest publishers and have our integration work and quality
marketing campaigns across multiple platforms considered among the best in these prestigious
awards.”

The Adelaide-based News Ltd company has received INMA nominations for:

• Online Audience Usage and Engagement 75,000-300,000 circulation: The Advertiser and
Sunday Mail, Adelaide, “AdelaideNow Second Chance Lotto.”
• Brand Awareness Across Platforms 75,000-300,000 circulation: The Advertiser, Adelaide,
“The Advertiser Refresh Brand Campaign.”

The AdelaideNow Second Chance Lotto was broadcast online and gave those who purchased
tickets in an SA Lotteries draw the opportunity to win in another jackpot if their original ticket was
unsuccessful.

The draw was successful in not only driving awareness to SA Lotteries and its draw
but also significantly increased web traffic to AdelaideNow and saw in increase in subscribers to
our daily e-Edition.

In September 2009 The Advertiser updated its’ masthead and refreshed elements within the
newspaper. To coincide with this development a campaign was introduced for the “make the most
of every day” brand positioning and the colour red was used as the consistent visual.

With this element, The Advertiser commenced the task of “painting the town red” which has been
instrumental in maintaining our strong position as a trusted media source in South Australia.
