Sarah Palin can’t name one newspaper

Sarah Palin, the US Vice-President hopeful, was asked what news sources she turns to for information in an interview with CBS. Despite trying to sidestep the question, she effectively drew a complete blank. She said:

“I’ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.”

Palin, a journalism major, was then pressed on the topic by interviewer Katie Couric, but could not name one paper or magazine:

“Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years. I have a vast variety of source where we get our news. Alaska isn’t a foreign country, where it’s kind of suggested, ‘wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?’ Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.”

Some observers at the PANPA conference thought it was interesting that in Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s family, only the PM himself read a print newspaper. Apparently, it could be worse! See the full Palin interview here:
